Digital Nomad Lad
THE DNL FIRST STEPS / PRACTICAL GUIDE

Show the work.
Explain the thinking.

A practical portfolio starting point for designers and digital creatives.

Choose a believable brief.

Start with a problem you can explain. Use real client work with permission or a self-initiated brief clearly labelled as such. Do not imply an invented client commissioned it.

Show the decisions.

Explain the audience, constraints, alternatives you considered and why you chose the direction. A few considered images are more useful than a wall of unexplained mockups.

Separate your contribution.

If you worked in a team, say which parts were yours. Mention collaborators where appropriate. Do not claim outcomes or performance figures you cannot substantiate.

Make the result easy to inspect.

Show readable screens, layouts or artifacts, with short captions. Include accessibility and responsive thinking where relevant to the project.

Connect it to the role.

Choose a small selection suited to the work you want. Add an easy way to contact you and check the links on a phone as well as a desktop.
