Digital Nomad Lad
YOUR INFORMATION / YOUR CHOICES

Privacy &
your saved plans.

A plain explanation of what stays on your device and what happens when you contact Jake.

Who runs this site?

Digital Nomad Lad is run by Jake Wetton. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@jakewetton.co.uk. Mailing address: C/O Hilton Consulting, Canalot Studios, 222 Kensal Road, London, England, W10 5BN.

Your plans stay in your browser

Planning tools use browser storage to remember your saved cities, places, articles, tools and jobs, budgets, checklists, notes and job searches. These features do not send your planning information to Jake. This storage supports the features you choose to use; it is not an advertising profile.

Clearing saved information

Your saved information can remain until you remove it or clear this site’s browser data. My Plan’s reset clears the planner and saved places, but separate saved tools, jobs and beginner budgets may remain. Use your browser’s site-data controls to remove the complete local record. Backups and correction notes are downloaded to your device; delete those files separately. Restoring a backup reads it locally. A downloaded correction note is not automatically submitted.

Enquiries and advertising

Contact and advertising links open your email app. If you send a message, Jake receives the email address, message and attachments you provide through the email services involved, including his Zoho Mail inbox. Information is used to answer and follow up on your enquiry. This is based on the legitimate interest in handling correspondence, or steps towards a contract where you ask about a partnership. Share only what is needed. Enquiries are kept while needed for the enquiry and relevant follow-up; contractual or accounting records may need to be kept for legal recordkeeping. Unneeded correspondence should be deleted rather than kept indefinitely.

Newsletter registration

When you request Letters from the Lad, we use your email address to send a confirmation. Only after you confirm do we add you to DNL’s separate Resend segment and subscription topic. Consent is the basis for monthly newsletter emails; withdraw it through the unsubscribe link at any time. We keep the consent wording version, request/confirmation dates and subscription status. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours; unconfirmed requests are removed after seven days when the signup service is used. Active details are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. A minimal opt-out record is retained to honour your choice. Rate controls use a keyed, hashed network address for up to 24 hours to prevent abuse. Resend processes the emails and contact preferences. Opening and click tracking are disabled for this sending domain. A FreeStack or Wetton&Co subscription does not subscribe you to DNL. The form shows current registration availability.

Services your browser connects to

The fonts and original archive images are hosted with the site, so their original providers are not contacted just to display a page. Opening the jobs board requests public job listings from Greenhouse. Choosing a weather forecast requests information from Open-Meteo using the city selected, including its coordinates and time zone; it does not request your device’s GPS location. Those services receive the normal connection information needed to answer the request, such as your IP address. The exchange-rate snapshot and city photographs are stored with the site and do not require a live request to their original source.

Hosting and tracking

OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure, including Cloudflare, deliver and protect the website. They may process technical connection and security information. The site’s own code currently includes no analytics or advertising tracking scripts. Hosting and sign-in services may use security or session storage. We do not claim that all browser storage is exempt from consent requirements: purposes and providers will be reviewed before adding tracking.

External links and Monzo payments

Venue websites, maps, tools, applications and support payments open other services, whose own privacy terms apply. Monzo handles support payments; this website does not collect card or bank details. As the recipient, Jake may receive payment information from Monzo, such as the payer name, amount and payment reference, for handling and recording the contribution.

Providers and international processing

Hosting, email, font, image, job and weather providers may process connection or message information outside the UK. Their service terms and privacy information explain their processing. Contact Jake for information about the safeguards applicable to personal information he holds. Resend stores newsletter contacts, message content and delivery records in the United States, even when mail is sent through its Ireland region. Its Data Processing Addendum incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum for UK transfers; see Resend’s DPA. Hosting and email providers may also process data internationally; contact Jake to request the applicable provider and safeguard information.

Your rights and choices

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to personal information Jake holds, ask for correction or deletion, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability where applicable. For browser-only plans, use the local controls or clear site data. If you have concerns, email Jake. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Providing enquiry information is voluntary; without contact details Jake may be unable to reply. The site does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling.
