Build your own stay budget +

Start with the reference prices, then change the assumptions to match your trip. Inputs are in PLN; totals use your display currency.

Room starts at long-let rent ÷ 30 + a 35% DNL short-stay allowance, not a researched hotel rate. Replace it with your quote. Travel starts with the reported pass, or 44 single trips where no pass is available. Add a realistic desk and extras allowance to complete the model.

What about a night out?

One mid-range dinner share + two local draught beers comes to about £29.49. This is a calculated example, not a nightlife average; add taxis, club entry and premium drinks separately.

Transport information ↗

Identify the airport

Warsaw Chopin and Modlin are different arrivals. Chopin has city rail and bus connections; check Modlin transfers separately and route to your actual address.

Metro, trams and buses

Warsaw Public Transport connects the city across several modes. A direct metro or tram route is a practical way to choose your home-to-desk pair.

Validate the right product

Choose the correct time and zone validity. Validate or activate the ticket as required; rail acceptance differs between SKM and other operators, so check the integrated-ticket rules.

Plan for the season

Central districts are walkable, but winter weather changes the routine. Keep a nearby grocery option and a direct transport route for colder days.

ROUTE TO INVESTIGATE

Business-activity residence route where eligible

Poland’s temporary residence route for business activity requires a qualifying business and supporting evidence. It is not a general permission for every overseas remote worker.

EU rights and individual status can change requirements. Schengen visitor access alone does not establish the right to perform your proposed work.

Official requirements & application ↗
  1. 01

Check nationality-based entry rights and whether your activity fits the Office for Foreigners business residence criteria.

  2. 02

Prepare the applicable evidence of lawful business activity, income, health insurance and accommodation, plus business-performance or development evidence.

  3. 03

Follow the current MOS electronic application instructions while lawfully present, and attend any identity or biometric steps requested by the authority. Confirm work and tax obligations for your exact arrangement.

Checked 3 Nov 2026. Eligibility depends on nationality, residence and work arrangements. Check the competent authority before applying; permission to enter, work and become tax resident are separate questions.

CLOSE THE LAPTOP

Make room for the place itself.

Łazienki Park

Build a park walk into a quieter afternoon; check seasonal opening details.

06 / THE THINGS THAT MAKE A WEEK WORK

Settle in. Keep the good bits.

Stay connected

Compare Orange, Play, Plus and T-Mobile prepaid packages, registration requirements and EU roaming limits. Check upload speed and mobile reception in the specific apartment.

Connectivity toolkit ↗

Eat like you live here

Milk bars, neighbourhood lunch menus and grocery cooking can keep everyday spending lower than food halls and cocktails. Hala Koszyki is a convenient social stop rather than the baseline budget.

For allergies, carry a translated dietary card and ask about ingredients and cross-contact.

Pick your season

Summer gives you longer evenings outdoors. Winter can be cold with short daylight hours; check heating and nearby transit before choosing a longer stay.

Build your backup

Confirm medical cover for the work and activities you plan. Save local emergency contacts, a nearby clinic and a backup desk before your first working day.

How the nomad ratings work

DNL editorial assessments, not visitor averages or Jake’s personal reviews. Each category uses a 1–5 scale (limited to strong): work setup considers the sourced workspace options; getting around considers the usefulness of transit and walking; everyday value considers the researched cost context; days off considers the range of things to explore. The overall score is the equally weighted mean, rounded to one decimal. These are subjective starting points, not measured Wi-Fi, safety or visa scores.
