Vice President of Marketing and Membership | Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI)

Hybrid in Arlington, VA, The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) represents all segments of the manufactured housing industry, and our 1,000 member companies provide housing for more than 22 million Americans. We’re hiring a marketing and membership development strategist to lead our industry relations efforts including our member, industry and consumer focused marketing communications. This leader is also responsible for driving our continued membership recruiting and retention success.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Our Vice President of Marketing & Membership will fill a critical role for MHI and our efforts to elevate housing innovation and expand attainable homeownership. Reporting to MHI’s President, this leader will oversee member communications, retention and acquisition, driving marketing efforts toward these goals. This role will work closely with other members of our leadership team including the CEO, Vice President of Member Engagement and our advocacy team.
In this role you will:

Develop and oversee strategies, structure, measurement and analysis of marketing initiatives and campaigns
Execute these strategies and provide clear, actionable direction to accomplish key team and association deliverables, including meeting and exceeding member acquisition and retention goals
Utilize market research and member feedback to strategically build data driven, member-centric marketing and communication vehicles and collateral materials that generate strong growth and amplify messaging
Work with external stakeholders and vendors to develop and optimize member resources and benefits to maximize value proposition
Effectively promote MHI’s member meetings and all-industry events
Direct content creation and communications needs including email announcements and campaigns, press releases, content across social media channels, etc.
Oversee continual development, launch and maintenance of web site and other communication tools
Follow-up with membership leads generated through articles, industry presentations and general inquiries

Key requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
6 years of increasing levels of responsibilities in association management
3 years of experience leading, managing and developing a team
History of budget planning and profit/loss responsibilities
Demonstrated commitment to excellence
Experience in housing or housing focused association is a plus

Polished written and verbal communication ability
Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with people of all backgrounds, personality types and positions
Flexible and adaptable; willing and able to manage multiple projects at once
Knowledge and experience with financial management, budgeting, and oversight
Strong computer skills with both desire and ability to learn new technologies
Problem solver with customer service mindset
Proactive and collaborative working style
